Koda Tribe Entertainment
For California based production company Koda Tribe Entertainment I had the pleasure to create this logo / title animation based on their trademark logo.

I was only provided with the logo and from there had complete freedom to create something that would reflect the vision of the two female founders of the company.
Zbrush asset modelling

I knew I needed the statues for the animation so before concepting the animation with a storyboard I modeled the statue in ZBrush based on the logo. Then rigged and weighted the model in Cinema4D, as I had to create the raising arms and head movement. Since the movement is very slow and sublte, a simple forward kinematic was good enough, rather than an full IK character rig.
Styleframes

After modeling the statue I created a bunch of styleframes to find the right mood for the animation. Later on I decided to go for a solid gold look for the 35mm film strip as well.
Storyboard

The storyboard I created in Adobe Fresco. It's a great tool to sketch out ideas and even storyboard, to then eventually send over to Photoshop with one click. I'm not the best storyboard artist, but it was important in this case to have consistent storytelling through the animation and keep the overall concept together.
Cinema4D and Octane Render

Although I had switched to Redshift Render for production animations a while ago, I still use Octane Render for cinematic animations like this one. The challenge when animating this was to avoid the 35mm film strip to collide with the statues, but still retain a smooth animation around the 3D models. The shots were then brought together in Adobe After Effects.
Score

I also created the music in this case. I had a reference track early on in the project to help set the mood and really got used to it. So I composed a similar track from scratch in Ableton Live with the Spitfire Symphonic Orchestra and some synth pads with Arturia Pigments in addition to a few soundFX like the 35mm film projector.
